Chilli varieties differ greatly in heat. Record the variety you used if you want to repeat the flavour. The calculator scales mass; it cannot infer capsaicin concentration from the weight or colour.
How should I prepare it?
Wear suitable food-preparation gloves and avoid touching your eyes while cutting hot chillies. Wash hands and utensils afterwards. Follow the recipe’s preparation rather than assuming whole and trimmed peppers weigh the same.
